This foundation course is designed to give you the essential knowledge on how most businesses operate and an understanding of how their functions are interrelated to competitors and the economic environment overall. You will develop the skills and knowledge you need to better understand how to run an efficient and productive operation of an office, as well as strengthen your basic administrative skills which can be used across many industries and roles.
Students will undertake 2 Key Modules, made up of 17 subjects.
Module 1: Office Practices (100 hours)
Designed to deliver the basics in administration and how an office works, from common communication systems, to phone skills and computer applications. You will learn how businesses operate and the best practice for business administration.
Module 2: Operations Management (100 hours)
This module provides essential knowledge on how businesses operate, across multiple industries. Designed as an excellent foundation module, it aims to deliver an overview of how business functions are interrelated, both to other competitors and the economic environment overall.
Assessments are a critical step in the learning process. They help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving onto the next. They also help your tutor identify where any further support may be required, so that you get the most out of your course.
You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, interacting with tutors, undertaking research and watching videos. Each lesson will conclude with an assignment which is marked by your assigned tutor and returned to you with feedback, and if necessary, some recommended additional reading. Assessments may come in the form of – case studies, quizzes and written assessments.
This course is a beginner level course and will lay a sound foundation of knowledge and skills in office administration and how a business operates.
