Students will undertake 2 Key Modules, made up of 8 subjects each.

Module 1: Farm Management (100 hours)
Learn better farm management with this course that was developed by John Mason, author of best-selling book “Farm Management” and study with our team of internationally renowned agricultural experts from Australia and the UK.

In this course, you will learn how to effectively manage a farm or agricultural enterprise which services farms. Discover how to analyse, diagnose and make decisions related to the management of a farm business, as well as managing all resources, including; production, staff, physical resources, and natural resources. Farming is just as much about management as it is about animal or crop production, so you will also learn about strategic planning, whole farm planning, and how to prepare a business plan.

Module 2: Sustainable Agriculture (100 hours)
In this course you will discover what makes a farm sustainable, as a business and for the environment. You will learn how to improve farm sustainability, by exploring not only the environmental resources of a farm, but also the financial resources. Learn how to create a productive and profitable agriculture enterprise that can successfully survive into the future without negatively impacting the environment.

Assessment

Assessments are a critical step in the learning process. They help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving onto the next. They also help your tutor identify where any further support may be required, so that you get the most out of your course.

You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, interacting with tutors, undertaking research and watching videos. Each lesson will conclude with an assignment which is marked by your assigned tutor and returned to you with feedback, and if necessary, some recommended additional reading. Assessments may come in the form of – case studies, quizzes and written assessments.
